I have always disliked the get-up-and-go mindset of mornings. It’s one of my biggest challenges with the traditional 8-5 work schedule, and a big reason I’ve preferred to be self-employed. As a kid, I was always running to catch the school bus, then shuffled to and from classes at a blitzkrieg pace, without any time to plan, reflect, or meditate. It was always go, go, go, do, do, do, achieve, achieve, success.
As an adult, I’m trying to slow things down a bit and have more focus, clarity, and empowerment around my day and time. It’s definitely still a challenge when I’m in that 8-5 schedule, or generally just trying to get a lot of things done.
I stumbled upon the article below and found that it’s a great reminder of the little things we can do on a daily basis to yield big improvements in our lives. I hope it will also empower you to reclaim control and live a more satisfied, unhurried life. Let’s all stop chasing that school bus.
